" We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.  God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the
righteousness of God."                                 II Corinthians 5:20-21

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
                                                                                                                            Matthew 6:33

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM, part 3

So far in our study of Matthew 6:25-34, I have noted:
1)The context of Matthew 6:33 is one of Jesus teaching about worry.
2)Jesus taught we should not worry and listed things over which we should not be
        worried.
3)Jesus gave three reasons why we should not worry about those things.
4)Jesus concludes in verse 33 seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness first and all              these things will be added to you.

Jesus concludes His teaching in verse 34 by saying, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Jesus has been trying to make the point that a disciple should place His trust in God and keep His trust in Him. Worry about yesterday or what might come tomorrow is not helpful. We can only live today.

Instead of worry a follower of Jesus should place his or her faith in God. God is a Father who cares. He knows what we need before we ask. He can cause all things to work together for good to who love Him and are called according to His purpose. The joy a disciple has in living life does not have to be robbed by worry concerning what might happen later in life if he or she places their purpose in living in life in seeking God first.

When a disciple places his or her faith in God, seeks the kingdom of God and his righteousness first, he or she has no need to worry. God will always be there with that person to help them through life.                                        concluded next week…
